Inspections are not mandatory in Illinois. A home inspection is highly recommended so you know what your walking into when buying a new home. Your realtor should recommend a home inspector and from there you have a choice to find your own inspector or use your realtors.

Did your home inspector check the furnace and air conditioner ? Heating and A.C. are part of the major systems required to inspect in Illinois. A furnace can be inspected and run at anytime. The A.C. should not be turned on unless its been above 60 degrees. #homeinspectornearme

Inspection reports are not meant to scare you away from buying your new home. Go through the whole report, see what’s in the summary and if you don’t understand something then ask your inspector. The Inspector should be able to explain what is being reported.
